I’m a High School Graduate…

I have already earned a college degree…

The following are the steps necessary for earning your school counseling certification in New Hampshire:

Step One:

Fulfill educational requirements through one of the following avenues:

  • Through the alternative certification method, you can initiate certification procedures while having a Master’s degree in counseling or a related field. There are various additional requirements for earning your New Hampshire school counselor certification this way. Contact the NHDOE for specific information. Step Two:

You will need to have completed a supervised internship for a duration of 600 clock hours. If you are earning your New Hampshire school counseling certification through the alternative method, you will have different experience requirements. New Hampshire does recognize reciprocity agreements between other states; however, you will still need to have you credentials, education and experience evaluated before certification as a New Hampshire school counselor will be granted.
